Ambassador of the Lao PDR to the Republic of Singapore, H.E. Mr. Sengkeo Pouangpadith, along with staff from the Lao Embassy in Singapore, were warmly welcomed by Alvin Yapp, the founder and owner of The Intan, for a special guided tour of the Peranakan museum located on Joo Chiat Road, Singapore. The exclusive event, which took place on Visakha Bucha Day, also included Lao community in Singapore, totaling over 22 attendees.

On April 9, 2024, the UN Economic and Social Council (Ecosoc) held a management meeting to elect new members of the Executive Board of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for the term 2025-2027. The Lao PDR, together with India and the Republic of Korea was elected to represent the Asia-Pacific region. This is only the second time that the Lao PDR will sit on the Executive Board of UNICEF starting from January 2025 to December 2027. The Lao PDR was elected and served on the Executive Board of UNICEF for the first time from 2001-2003. UNICEF is a key UN agency that has implemented the longest cooperation program in Lao PDR. UNICEF began its work in the country by opening a small office in Vientiane back in 1973. Throughout the past 50 years, UNICEF has been a trusted development partner and highly regarded among the donor community and countries around the world.

The 38^th Meeting of ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) was held on 20-23 February 2024, in Vientiane, Lao PDR under the chairmanship of Ambassador Yong Chanthalangsy, Representative of the Lao PDR to AICHR, also the Chair of AICHR in 2024. AICHR Representatives/Alternate Representatives of AICHR, ASEAN Secretariat, including Timor-Leste as an observer attended the Meeting. This Meeting was the first one of the series under the chairmanship of the Lao PDR in 2024.
