Excellency,
I am deeply saddened to learn about devastating earthquake occurred in Izmir, Turkey on 30 October 2020, causing loss of lives, injuries and vast damage to properties of the people living in the affected area.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR and on my own behalf, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and condolences to Your Excellency and through You to the government and people of Turkey, particularly to the families of the victims.
I am confident that with the able leadership of your Government, the people of the Republic of Turkey will be able to overcome the difficulties of this disaster and livelihoods of the affected population will be restored to normalcy soon.
