Mr Saleumxay Kommasith shakes hands with Ms Rena Bitter in

Minister of Foreign Affairs MrSaleumxay Kommasith received a courtesy visit at his office from the new Ambassador of America, Ms Rena Bitter prior to commencing her work in Laos.

At the talks held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vientiane, Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith congratulated and praised Ms Rena Bitter on her new appointment as the new US ambassador to Laos which will be great contribution to the existing the friendly relations and cooperation shared between the Lao PDR and America.

Minister Saleumxay also highlighted President Barack Obama’s achievements, his recent visit to Laos, and the declaration by the leaders of Laos and the USA that the countries had entered a new era of their comprehensive partnership.

In reply, Ms Rena Bitter expressed gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for his warm welcome and to other Party and government leaders, as well as the Lao people, for the cooperation and assistance that she is sure will be extended.
