In response to the invitation of Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister of Lao PDR, Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, paid an official visit to Laos from 5-6 December 2018.

The meeting reaffirmed their intention to enhance the long-standing friendly relations, cooperation and solidarity between the two countries in the spirit of mutual respect and interests.

The two Prime Ministers witnessed the signing of four cooperation agreements. They were a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on art and Cultural cooperation for the year 2019-2021, a cooperation agreement on education for 2019-2023, and a MOU in which Laos will send elephants to perform arts at a zoo in Phnom Penh. Another MOU on which the Cambodia will purchase 230 kV and 500 kV electricity from Laos. At the talks, prime minister Hun Sen invited Prime Minister Thongloun to visit Cambodia in the coming year 2019.
