ASEAN FOREIGN MINISTERS’ STATEMENT ON THE EARTHQUAKE IN ACEH,
INDONESIA

ASEAN Member States are saddened by the earthquake in the north-east coast of Sumatra island, Aceh province, Indonesia, on 7 December 2016, which caused numerous deaths and injuries, and extensive damage to properties.

ASEAN expresses its deepest sympathies and condolences to the Government and people of Indonesia, especially the families of the victims of the earthquake, during this difficult time.

ASEAN stands ready to extend its cooperation and support in whatever way it can to contribute to the Government and people of Indonesia to bring about a speedy recovery.
