The Lao PDR, together with international community, expresses grave concern over the underground nuclear/hydrogen bomb test by the DPRK on 3 September 2017, which is in violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council’s resolutions and may increase further tension in the Korean Peninsula. The Lao PDR calls on all parties concerned to exercise self-restraint and exert common efforts for peace and security in the region and the world. The Lao PDR reiterates its consistent support for peace, stability and denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula and resolving disputes by peaceful means through constructive dialogue.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith and his delegation will pay an official visit to the Republic of Indonesia on July 26-28, 2017 at the invitation of his Indonesian counterpart Mrs. Retno L.P. Marsudi. The visit to Indonesia by Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith is expected to further strengthen friendship relations and cooperation between Laos and Indonesia.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith will pay an official visit to the Republic of the Philippines on Jul 13-14, 2017 at the invitation of his Filipino counterpart Alan Peter Schramm Cayetano. The visit to the Philippines by Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith is expected to further strengthen the relations and cooperation between Laos and the Philippines.
