Prime Minister leaves for Cuba
Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh and his delegation bid farewell to senior officials on April 30, 2009 before leaving Vientiane on a 3 days official visit to the Republic of Cuba.
The visit from May 3-6 is in response to an invitation from the Secretary of the Political Bureau of the Cuba Communist Party and President of the State Council and Council of Ministers of Cuba, Raul Castro Ruz.
Mr. Bouasone Bouphavanh will be accompanied on his visit by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Education Minister Somkot Mangnomek and other senior officials.
Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh will meet with his Cuban counterpart, Raul Castro Ruz, aiming to strengthen the traditional friendly relations between Laos and Cuba. The Lao Prime Minister and his delegation will also visit historical and tourist sites and production bases in Havana and other areas.
