Cambodia
and Laos have agreed to solve the rest of the common
border demarcation issue by the end of this year.
Minutes on
the meeting and the agreement between the two parties
were signed between Cambodian Foreign Affairs and
International Cooperation Secretary of State Long Visalo
and Lao Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Bounkeut
Sangsomsak on June 5 in Phnom Penh.
Cambodia and Laos has a joint border of 500km. The two
sides have so far completed 84 percent of border
landmark planting, Cambodia’s news agency of AKP said.
Border marker planting along the Sekong River and the
Dang Rek Mountain region is in the process and expected
to be completed by the end of this year.-
