Laos condemns terrorist acts
President Choummaly Sayasone on July 20 sent a message to his Indonesian counterpart, H.E.Mr.Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of Indonesia to express sympathy to families who suffered from the bomb attacks in Jakarta on July 17.
“I have learned with sadness of the bomb attacks in Jakarta on July 17, that killed and wounded many people,” the president was quoted as saying in the message.
“On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao PDR and on my own behalf, I would like to express my sincere condolences and sympathy to Your Excellency and through Your Excellency to the victims’ families.”
“I would like to talk this opportunity to assure Your Excellency that the Lao PDR will continue to cooperate with the international community in efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestation.”
Bomb exploded at two luxury hotels in Jakarta early on Friday morning. Some of the casualties were foreigners.
