Swiss ambassador ends mission as chief diplomat to Laos
Swiss Ambassador to Laos, Dr. Rodolphe S Imhoof on July 29 bid farewell to Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh at the Prime Minister's Office in Vientiane.The farewell took place upon completion of the ambassador’s tour of duty during which, Dr. Imhoof accomplished much, most notably promoting and strengthening friendship and cooperative ties between Laos and Switzerland.
Diplomatic relations between the two nations have strengthened over the past few years as the two nations share a number of common visions.
Dr. Imhoof was based in Bangkok, Thailand during his mission. He’s in Laos this week to attend a reception to mark the Swiss National Day and bid farewell to Lao leaders after completing his diplomatic mission in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.
Laos and Switzerland established diplomatic relations in September 1957.
