From 8-9 December 2016, H.E. Mr. Phongsavath BOUPHA, Former Minister and Head of President’s Office, led the Lao delegation to attend the 9th Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) under the theme “Religion, Democracy and Pluralism”, which was held in Bali, the Republic of Indonesia. Delegates from 96 countries, including countries in Asia-Pacific region as well as Europe, America and Africa were present at the forum.

Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, Laos’ ASEAN SOM Leader chaired the Informal ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) which was held on 8-9 December 2016 in Bali, Indonesia. The ASEAN SOM Leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues, especially recent developments such as Brexit and changes in leadership in some countries, including the outcome of the U.S. 2016 Presidential Election that ASEAN and other regions have been following closely.

Ricardo Bocanlandro, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to ASEAN, and on this occasion H.E. Ricardo Bocanlandro hands over a Note from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Argentine Republic, declaring its intent to accede to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).
