I am very delighted to note that for almost 5 decades, the long-standing friendship and close cooperation between our two countries have been further developedand broadened fields in many areas, as reflected in the regular exchanges of high-ranking visits and people to people contact. I am confident that that such existing relations and good cooperation between Lao PDR and Singapore will be further enhanced in the years ahead for the tangible benefits of our two people as well as for peace, stability and cooperation for development in the region and the world at large.

May I take this auspicious opportunity to wish Your Excellency good health, happiness and greater success in your noble tasks and the Singaporean people continued progress and prosperity.
