Excellency,

I have learned with sadness over the loss of lives and damages to properties of the people of Japan who have been affected by the massive earthquake in the Northwestern area of Japan, particularly in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan on 01 January 2024.

On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and my own behalf, I would like to express my profound condolences and heartfelt sympathy to Your Excellency and through Your Excellency to the Government and people of Japan, particularly to those victims and bereaved families of the victims affected by this incident.

I am confident that with the intensive effort by the Government of Japan, the people of Japan will be able to overcome this difficult time and restore the living condition to normalcy soon.
