ພັກປະຊາຊົນ ປະຕິວັດລາວ ທີ່ມີກຽດສະຫງ່າ ໝັ້ນຍືນ! ຊົມເຊີຍວັນສ້າງຕັ້ງພັກປະຊາຊົນປະຕິວັດລາວ ຄົບຮອບ 65 ປີ ຢ່າງສຸດໃຈ! ຂໍ່ານັບຮັບຕ້ອນວັນຄ້າຍວັນເກີດປະທານ ໄກສອນ ພົມວິຫານ ຄົບຮອບ 100 ປີ; ວັນສະຖາປະນາ ສປປ ລາວ ຄົບຮອບ 45 ປີ; ກອງປະຊຸມໃຫຍ່ ຄັ້ງທີ XI ຂອງພັກປະຊາຊົນ ປະຕິວັດລາວ; ກອງປະຊຸມໃຫຍ່ອົງຄະນະພັກ ຄັ້ງທີ IV ຂອງກະຊວງການຕ່າງປະເທດ ແລະ ວັນການທູດລາວ ຄົບຮອບ 77 ປີ.

On April 9, 2024, the UN Economic and Social Council (Ecosoc) held a management meeting to elect new members of the Executive Board of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for the term 2025-2027. The Lao PDR, together with India and the Republic of Korea was elected to represent the Asia-Pacific region. This is only the second time that the Lao PDR will sit on the Executive Board of UNICEF starting from January 2025 to December 2027. The Lao PDR was elected and served on the Executive Board of UNICEF for the first time from 2001-2003. UNICEF is a key UN agency that has implemented the longest cooperation program in Lao PDR. UNICEF began its work in the country by opening a small office in Vientiane back in 1973. Throughout the past 50 years, UNICEF has been a trusted development partner and highly regarded among the donor community and countries around the world.

Over the years, UNICEF has continued to mobilize funding and technical assistance to improve health, education, and the overall well-being of children and women in the Lao PDR, including the protection of children's rights around the world. UNICEF Executive Board plays a crucial role in the development of Programs and allocating funding for the implementation of cooperation projects around the world. Being elected to serve on the Executive Board of UNICEF is a testimony to the increasingly important role of the Lao PDR in the international arena and the confidence given by the international community in pursuit of its consistent foreign policy of peace, independence, friendship, and cooperation of the Lao Government.
