Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, and his delegation paid an official visit to the Philippines during 13-14 July 2017 at the invitation of Mr. Alan Peter Schramm Cayetano, Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Republic of the Philippines. It was the first visit of Mr. Saleumxay as Minister of Foreign Affairs. This visit aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation and deeper friendship between the two countries.

Foreign Minister gave interview to Lao media on the occasion of celebrating 2 Historical dates of 40th anniversary of signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation and 55th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Laos and Vietnam.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumsay Kommasith on July 3 received a courtesy call from the new Cambodian Ambassador to Laos, Cheng Manith as the latter has recently been appointed to the diplomatic post in Laos.
